Arthur
Arthur Smith is a flavour chemist. He joined the flavour industry in England in 1971 and spent ten of those years as an Alcohol Beverage Manager, developing flavours for international drinks brands.
In 2001 he moved to Queensland with three decades of experience and started making essences here. That work became Edwards Essences.
What is actually in the bottle
Every essence is made here in Australia from high grade ingredients. The whole range is gluten free and wheat free. One 50 ml bottle of spirit essence makes 3.5 L of premium gin, whisky or rum at home from plain spirit, and a 50 ml liqueur essence makes about 1.4 L of liqueur. The flavour rounds out if you give it a couple of weeks in the bottle.
The range today runs to 25 spirit essences and 19 liqueurs. You can find a stockist near you, or start with the spirits range.
